Design Electrical

At infinium® we carry out bespoke electronic and embedded software design to support both our own and customer product development. Our ISO 9001:2008 accredited design processes coupled to a close working relationship between engineers and customers enables us to develop and deliver timely and appropriate solutions over a wide range of technology.

Our in-house capabilities extend to schematic design and capture, PCB layouts for the latest automated or manual assembly techniques with 3D modelling of assemblies for mechanical consideration, Spice and digital simulations for electronic verification. Design for manufacture, CE approval, EMC, RoHS, WEEE can also be provided by infinium® engineering staff who have experience covering consumer, military, automotive and professional sound, lighting and broadcast applications.

Software development at infinium®  ranges from embedded application development in C to test and programming automation platforms using Windows based applications through to Altera FPGA design and PLC programming. Fully custom applications are often developed for customers ranging from manufacturing automation to financial planning to product level software.

With our depth of technical knowledge our designers work in partnership with customers to produce safe, reliable and cost effective solutions. They can be involved at any stage of a development or throughout the process from concept through to completion. Our work often carries a degree of research and development and through regular design reviews this work is controlled and monitored to enable the full potential of products to be developed, or for ground work to be performed prior to the full specification of a product being made.

Environmental performance can also be designed at infinium®. Thermal, electronic and electrical modelling along with test equipment to validate the calculations are available to design in product quality and to design out expensive recalls. RoHS and WEEE processes our default design approach and we are continuously looking at materials with a positive environmental impact, as well as designing to reduce energy use and waste.

After a product is in manufacture our engineers are also able to provide support against component availability issues or on going development through to end user support.
